NBI Bearings Europe and the university are building an increasingly close relationship. This reflects the company’s commitment to connecting the academic environment, young talent and industrial reality. In this context, the company recently held its third collaboration day together with the EHU – Bilbao School of Engineering at its facilities in Okondo, Álava. The initiative continues to bring the future of engineering closer to university students.

During the visit, final-year Mechanical and Industrial Engineering students and their tutors had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into how the company operates. They also discovered how work is carried out across the different stages of production. From design to the manufacture of Enhanced+ bearings, attendees were able to observe the full process behind a company specialised in high-performance industrial solutions.

A collaboration between university and industry with real impact

Beyond technology and production processes, the event also focused on people and shared knowledge within the organisation. Participants toured the production plant and laboratories. There, they exchanged experiences with professionals from different departments. As a result, they gained a better understanding of the importance of innovation, collaboration and a passion for work well done.

For NBI Bearings Europe, these initiatives help create a stronger link between university and industry. In this way, future engineers can better understand the real needs of the sector. They can also prepare more effectively for the challenges of the labour market. This approach reinforces the company’s commitment to training, knowledge transfer and the development of an industry more closely connected to emerging talent.

Following the success of this third edition, NBI is already working on new training and collaboration sessions. In doing so, the company reaffirms its commitment to young talent and to long-term industrial development.
